Peace – How long can we have it?

Showing 1 of 1

Are you searching for something? Are you craving for peace?

Do you think there is more to life? If Yes, then this presentation is just for you!

Are you a good person? Perhaps you have never stolen, never even lied, and have always helped the poor, given alms, donated to religious trusts, etc. So naturally that would qualify you as a good person, correct? May be yes, according to human standards.

But my dear friend, you will be surprised to know that God’s standards are much higher. He doesn’t judge us by human standards.

God is perfect and His standard is perfection! From God’s perfect viewpoint, even a small white lie is a sin!

So if now God judged you by His standard which is perfection, would you be innocent or guilty of breaking His laws? Would you go to heaven or hell?

Unlike what most religions say, it is not ignorance that separates man from God, but sin that separates man from his creator.

How then can we be saved from our sins?

Almost all religions promote a belief of doing good works in order to gain access into heaven. Little wonder then that we believe our good works cancel out our sins. Or perhaps we feel we can lead a sinless life by our own efforts, through self control and strict discipline? But in reality, how far do we succeed?

Let’s consider this: would any good judge let a criminal go free because he did a lot of good works? The law demands punishment for breaking it and a good judge will enforce the law without partiality. If we expect this of a good earthly judge, how much more should we expect it of God who is the perfect judge of the universe?

Now if this is the standard of judgment we expect from a good earthly judge, how much more should we expect of God who is the Perfect Judge of the universe?

Many religions believe that we have time – even after we die. But what if we do not? What if after death we come to know that there is no such thing as a second chance, and that the only chance we had (for salvation) was during our tenure on earth? Wouldn’t we then be gambling with our eternal destiny?

The Bible says:

It is appointed for men to die once, But after this the judgment

So if good works won’t save us from the penalty of sin, is there any way out of this predicament for mankind? The answer is yes!!!

God has provided a very simple way!

Over the ages, people of all religions have strived to attain Moksha or Salvation to enter into an eternal spiritual rest with God.

But Moksha or Salvation is not something man can ever achieve on his own. However hard he may try, he will always fall hopelessly short of God’s perfect standards.

The only way to God is the way that He Himself provides. All else is prideful presumption.

Path to Salvation

The good news is that God has provided that way of salvation for mankind: He sent a Savior in form of Jesus Christ!!! He did this to save mankind from eternal condemnation.

The Bible states:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to be a substitute for our sins and poured out all penalty and judgment for our sins on Him at the cross. Thus He (Jesus) who was sinless became sinful for the sake of mankind.

Thus the only pathway to Moksha or Salvation is to put our complete trust in God’s finished work at the Cross, through Jesus Christ. This simple act of faith paves the way for mankind to have a legal access to God’s presence, and every good thing, that God has intended for us.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Question: Why did God create man?

Answer: So that He can have a loving relationship with him.

From the beginning of creation, God has always desired to have a close loving relationship with man. This is the primary reason He created man.

But man fell into sin and fell away from God’s glory. But God so loved the world that despite man’s fall, God provided a way of restoration to the whole of mankind, at an immeasurable price – the death and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ.

By doing that, God has…

…extended His hand of love toward you

…made the way for you to reach God

But, you must make the choice.

The Invitation

The Bible says:

So you will be saved, if you honestly say, Jesus is Lord, and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death. God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this (Romans 10:9-10).

How to give your life to Christ:

1. Admit you are a sinner and need forgiveness.

2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.

3. Through prayer, confess that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and commit to live for Him for the rest of your life.
